Animal Art (AC3)

Join The Hobby Quest to build and fly real model airplanes and to explore the world of aviation! Every semester you will build from scratch and take home at least 2 different model airplanes. This high-flying course takes you outside to see your gliders in motion and to fly your models! In Aviation, you’ll also learn to read plans, use metric rules, make necessary calculations and work with different hobby tools.
Ballet (BL3)

We're delighted to welcome back Mrs. Maria Posey, a member of the faculty of Scarsdale Ballet Studio, a former soloist with the Westchester Ballet Co. and a member of the Corps de Ballet at Radio City Music Hall. You will learn the basic elements of ballet and the fundamentals of ballet technique through improvisation, music, props and imagery. There will be an open class at the end of the session for parents and friends. Please wear a leotard and tights to class, and bring your ballet slippers too.

Frozen Ropes, Westchester’s premiere baseball coaching facility, will bring its expertise to Greenacres. Each session will focus on teaching the correct technique for hitting, throwing, catching and fielding. These skills will then be used in games. We are excited to welcome back Discover Camp to teach you how to be mini Grand Prix racers. During the first several weeks of this club you will build a race car which you will then race on tracks brought in by the instructor. You will learn how to read instruction manuals and diagrams and how to identify and use tools properly.

This exciting new club was a huge success in the fall and we are excited to offer it again this semester. In this club, you will race a mini radio controlled Ferrari. You work together as teammates and compete against each other in class. Each car is set up differently so that you will learn how changing variables enhance performance. This club is brought to us by Discover Camp, the only hands-on hobby and technology camp in the nation.

We are excited to welcome back Erika Radin this spring. In this high energy class Ms. Radin will teach pantomime and improv. Participants will practice portraying characters and build acting skills by performing individually, in pairs and in a group. Ms. Radin has taught in schools throughout New York City and Westchester including the JCC. Ms. Radin has performed in many theatrical productions throughout Westchester, NYC and Long Island. tool for students and budding artists! In this club, Children will use
technology to explore the visual and audio arts. Through the use of

will work independently as well as in groups on various creative
exercises and small projects. They will compile all of their work to create a digital portfolio to take home at the end of the semester! This club will be taught by our very own Mr. Yang.

Calling all aspiring guitarists – learn the basics of playing the guitar! Through individual and group work, students develop the proper techniques for playing notes on all 6 strings, as well as basic rhythm patterns and chords. These skills are applied to the performance of well-known songs, which will be incorporated into a presentation the last day of the session. Children need to provide their own guitars which can be rented from music stores.

Lego Robotics – 90 minutes (LR3)

Build and program your own robots! No experience is necessary. You will work in groups and use the LEGO RCX Brick, a computer the size of a deck of cards. Just add Lego pieces to build a robot, animal, vehicle or sculpture. Then learn how to program it with a special language called “Robolab”. Unfortunately, you will not be able to take your creation home.

If you have always dreamed of being an American idol or just love to sing then this is the place to start. Amy Ahlert will teach the important basics such as breathing techniques and exercises to develop your voice. You will work together and individually with Amy to develop stage presence, projection and pitch. The group will select three songs that will be performed at a show during the last class. Amy Ahlert is a professional musician who performs all over the New York Metropolitan area.
